Marge Luttrell is an encaustic mixed media artist based in Knoxville, Tennessee. A Fulbright Scholar and recipient of grants from the NEH and NEA, she holds an MS from the University of Tennessee and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago. Luttrell exhibits nationally and teaches workshops across the U.S. and Europe.
I tell stories through wax and flame. Ancient myths—still alive, still true—find form in encaustic, a medium as enduring as the tales it holds. Each layer preserves time, revealing relics of meaning beneath the surface. I share this practice through national exhibitions and workshops, inviting others into the layered dialogue between personal, historical, and contemporary experience.
